NEWS: We now manufacture Xylophones that are completely hand made in the USA of White Pine and Indian Rosewood bars.
The Musical Workshop was established with the purpose of making honest heirloom-to-be-pieces in the old-fashioned way for lovers of well-made furniture.
- Solid wood and joinery like dovetail, mortice and tenon joints etc., are used.
- No nails or screws are used in structural joints
- No chipboard(particle board), no plywood except for drawer bottoms and the back of cupboards and then it will be true plywood(no mdf cores).
- Hardwoods and high quality soft woods of choice are are used.
So far we have made several pieces in the Cape Dutch town and country styles(various tables, servers, cupboards etc.) which have been well received by customers and which we will continue to make to order.
We will however, reproduce a piece from a picture mailed to us or an attachment to an e-mail. Send us a picture with basic dimensions and we will reproduce it, using the forementioned traditional methods of constructing and finishing.
We specialise in music stands that are fully adjustable. These are of varied design and can be found in living and music rooms internationally. I am a musician myself and make them to properly adjust for playing, sitting and standing as well as raking for playing and conducting
We also repair good old furniture with inherent value which is worth repairing- fractures, replacing missing parts and refinishing according to the original finish, appropriate to the period.We are located in beautiful Cherry Valley, California.
